Weekend Reading 7/19/13
So many good articles this week! These lists are also a file of sorts for myself, in addition to serving to point you to helpful links!
Diligence – The Golden Key to Life
How Do People Willingly Go to Hell? – This is not a new article, but one well worth your time! It has served as fuel for prayer for several people I love this week.
Lay Aside the Weight of “Not Feeling Like It”– “The pattern is this: the greater joys are obtained through struggle and difficulty and pain, while brief, unsatisfying, and often destructive joys are right at our fingertips.”
Books Don’t Change People, Paragraphs Do – “One sentence or paragraph may lodge itself so powerfully in our mind that its effect is enormous when all else is forgotten.”
Ordinary Christians and the Great Commission – “Ordinary Christians carry out a Great Commission in ordinary ways through their ordinary lives.”
Are We Fascniated with Lewis’s Fame or His Influence? – “I want to know the keys to his influence because there is a difference between wanting fame and wanting influence. Christians should want to be influential. We should not want to be famous. Wanting fame means wanting to be known and praised by lots of people. Wanting to be influential means wanting lots of people to know and praise God because of how you spoke of him and lived before him.”
