Favorite Podcasts
I love learning! I want to keep my mind sharp, learn new things, be called higher, and be sharpened by other believers. I’ve found podcasts to be one helpful tool in this endeavor, and thought I’d pass them on in hopes that they will serve you, too.
I have a podcast app on my phone called Podcast Addict. If you have an iPhone, you can listen through iTunes. The links I post below will be through the podcast url, so simply search for it in your specific podcast app.
Also, you might wonder when in the world there’s time to listen to podcasts. I hear you! Since I’m with my kids 24/7, I don’t have loads of free time to listen at leisure. So, I listen while I run, and if I happen to have small pockets here and there, I’ll turn one on. Another great time to listen is while in the car. I don’t usually listen to them when my kids are around, both so I can give them my attention, and also because stopping and starting makes it difficult to reap the benefits fully.
The podcast world can be a bit overwhelming, so if you’re new, pick just a few that sound interesting to you. I regularly listen to just a few for awhile before taking a break and moving to two or three others. When my podcast app updates, if a topic pops up that piques my interest, I’ll listen to it. I do not listen to all that I have listed below! It’s been months since I’ve listened to some. You have to find your own groove. I’ll star my current listening favorites.
I do want to issue a disclaimer here. Some of the podcasts I list at times contain inappropriate language and theological differences. This does not prevent me from listening and learning, because what the Lord has helped me to understand through the years is that people who are different from me in personality, gifts, and theological beliefs, can also have much to offer me.
As we grow in discernment, I believe we grow in our ability to receive the true and lovely, and to sift out the unhelpful. If you come across something you’re uncomfortable with, or have questions about, please listen to your conscience! I’m also happy to answer any questions you may have regarding what you hear.
